Party of 8 and a high chair. That is what we were. And here are some highlights from that night.
I tried telling my joke about ADOS (Attention Deficit - OH SHINY) and then I have an ADOS moment. I was telling a serious story and noticed the stamp that the Nascar people put on my hand had rubbed off on my shirt (like she said it would). Mid story, I say "oh man, the stamp did come off on my shirt" and then continued on. Laughter filled the room.
Speaking of laughter, we were so loud, the waiters came over and said it sounded like we were having too much fun. We were.
We discussed birthdays. It was four days until Randy's birthday. Two weeks until Uncle Johns birthday. 18 days till my birthday. Randy decided since the birthdays were so close we should all just celebrate together. And then we could celebrate wedding anniversary's too, since they were close enough. That sparked a discussion of what constitutes close enough for celebrating together.
We tried to tell the waiter that it was Uncle Johns birthday. It failed. The waiter was then motioning to mom to ask if it was Randy or Uncle Johns birthday. My mom (without her glasses or even knowing what was going on) was not very helpful. She finally asked the waiter "what do you want". HAHA. Then they brought Randy the bowl of ice cream. Which worked well, because his birthday was in four days, but we explained it wasn't really intended for him. Uncle John then informed us that if they had come over and sang to him, he would have hurt everyone "even the guests". Well, to top it off, the manager overheard him say that and came over and quietly sang and clapped to him. AWESOME! ** (Amended) As the manager was singing to him, Uncle John quietly, yet very sternly said to her "get the hell away from me." AWESOME!
Speaking of singing Happy Birthday, we added to the noise by clapping to not only our very own birthday, but to other peoples in the restaurant.
As we were discussing the spectacle that was the birthday ice cream, we were discussing what mom thought the waiter was actually trying to do. Stephen then pipes up with "what is he telling me to steal second?". Another 15 minutes of laughter ensued.
Laughter. That would be the word of that night. There was so much going on, it was a blast! We might not be welcome there anymore (I don't know for sure) but it was so much fun! Good memories.
My crazy family...... this is how we roll!
